Email Marketing Copilot
A monthly email program that remembers what worked, instead of campaign amnesia
The problem
The [Email Campaign Builder](/toolbox/email-campaign-builder) writes one good campaign, and then the knowledge evaporates: which subject line style got opens, which segment ignored the promo, what you sent in March that you are about to accidentally resend in September. Small-business email fails less from bad writing than from amnesia; every campaign starts from zero because nobody is keeping the record. Keeping it is a standing job, and this skill installs the person who holds it.
The tool
Once installed, this skill turns your assistant into your email marketing manager. It learns the business once (who is on the list, the natural segments, your voice from two emails you liked, cadence and hard limits), then runs the program: a monthly plan proposed from the calendar and your history, each campaign drafted in your voice with subject-line variants, and every send logged with the results you report in one line.
The memory is the compounding part. Report "spring promo: 38% opens, 6 bookings" and that becomes evidence the next plan uses: subject styles that earn opens get reused, segments that never bite stop getting that offer, and the skill tracks send frequency so the whole list is not burned on a slow month's panic. It remembers what every past campaign said, so repetition is a choice, not an accident, and it keeps the unsubscribe trend in view because a list's trust is the asset the whole channel runs on.
What's inside
- A one-time setup: list shape, segments, voice from your own best emails, cadence limits
- A monthly plan proposed from your calendar, seasons, and what the log says worked
- Campaigns drafted in your voice: the email, 3 subject variants, the segment, the send timing
- One-line result logging that turns every send into evidence
- Repetition and frequency guards: what March said, who got mailed lately
- A quarterly read: best subject styles, deadest segment, the send the list loved
How to use it
- 1Click "Install skill" on this page and copy the install prompt.
- 2Paste it into your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, anything that accepts pasted text).
- 3Do the setup and seed it with your last 3-5 campaigns and any results you remember.
- 4Each month, review the proposed plan, edit, send through your email tool as usual.
- 5After each send, report results in one line. That habit is the entire system.
Example
A garden centre with an 1,800-subscriber list installs the skill in March. Setup captures three segments (retail regulars, contractors, workshop attendees) and a two-sends-a-month limit. The April plan proposes a frost-date reminder to everyone and a wholesale preorder note to contractors only; both drafted, subject variants included. Results get logged in one line each. By July the quarterly read shows question-style subjects beating announcements by ten points, workshop attendees opening everything and buying little, and contractors converting best in the first week of the month, so August's plan moves their send to the 2nd and pitches workshops a membership instead of products. Nothing in that paragraph required software beyond the email tool they already had.
Pro tip
Log the failures with the same one line as the wins; a campaign that died is exactly one line of evidence and it prevents its own sequel. And guard the cadence limit you set on day one: the months you most want to add a third send are the months the list is most likely to be feeling the economy too, and the unsubscribe trend line in the quarterly read is the early warning that pays for the whole habit.
